feature film, released 2012
Released in 2012, aired on Showtime, currently streaming on Netflix. Dubbed "a quiet little winner" by Fearnet's Scott Weinberg and “A brisk, nasty and beautifully crafted horror film” by Jesse Miller of MoreHorror. Donner Pass follows a group of teens on a ski weekend into Donner Country. But what starts as a classic kids-in-the-cabin horror trope takes a sharp turn revealing sinister truths about the kids themselves. Nothing--and no one--is what it seems in this tightly woven dark thriller.
This is an adaptation of Ralph Ellison's classic 1945 short story about an African-American man who plays bingo in a desperate attempt to bring home money to his wife and unborn child. Adapted for the screen and directed by Elise Robertson. Produced in partnership with ITVS and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Winner of the Cine-Golden Eagle Award.
